FA Cup, terzo turno: Chelsea avanti, l’Oxford elimina lo Swansea. Al replay Tottenham-Leicester
Si è chiuso questa domenica il programma del terzo turno della FA Cup, la competizione inglese più antica al mondo. Nessun problema per il Chelsea che scende in campo con l’11 tipo e regola 2-0 lo Scunthorpe con i gol di Diego Costa e Loftus-Cheek. Pari pirotecnico e “replay” tra Tottenham e Leicester. A White Hart Lane termina 2-2 la sfida tra le due squadre di Premier. I Foxes di Ranieri, nonostante ben 8/11 diversi rispetto alle ultime uscite, sfiorano l’impresa raggiunti allo scadere dal calcio di rigore trasformato da Harry Kane.
Il primo “Giant-Killing” di questa edizione arriva dalla sfida tra Oxford United e Swansea. A sorpresa, con il risultato di 3-2, i gallesi abbandonano la competizione in favore dei Yellows, formazione di quarta serie inglese. Al replay anche Carlisle-Yeovil mentre il Shrewsbury espugna il campo del Cardiff 1-0 e avanza al turno successivo.
